What? Who? Can this be? A debate between Matt Damon and Bill Kristol?

Big Hollywood's Debate, will it happen?
This I have to see! We all remember how silly Matt sounded about his "concerns" with Sarah Palin, especially considering that the same arguments could be made about Obama (we know nothing about him, he's inexperienced, at least Palin was a mayor). For those who missed it, check it out, if you can:
So, Bill Kristol, editor of The Weekly Standard, a very good magazine, may publicly debate Matt Damon? *IF* Matt agrees, that is. Which of course means it won't happen. Liberals are always big talk, little action...

| It could be he is really busy and just doesn't have time to argue with a bunch of closed minded idiots. I am an English tutor and I had a right-wing, conservative minded student come to me yesterday who had to do an essay on a short story. The story was about the affects of the US health care system on a homeless man who was sent to an emergency room after being hit by a car. They wouldn't treat him, quite realistic, and he died. I asked this student WHY WOULDN'T THEY TREAT HIM? That's what they are there for... to save lives. Why wouldn't they do it. She couldn't wrap her head around the concept of "because he didn't have insurance or an ID." But, why didn't they treat him? She repeated her answer. I asked her again. This went on for about 15 minutes before FINALLY the light bulb came on!! Most right wing people never get the answer. Do you??? It's because our health care system is ALL ABOUT MAKING A PROFIT!!!! Same as our schools, our housing industry, etc. All the basic human needs of the lower scale of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs (look it up) are all about PROFIT in the U.S. What is the definition of sin? To commit a serious moral or ethical offense. To not allow potable water, health care, housing and food freely and without charge-- as conservatives are so profoundly against and mock the liberals who do so strongly want fair and equal rights for EVERYONE... yea... I wouldn't want to waste my time arguing with people who can't think outside their FOX BOX either. |

I ask you this sir....... if people are not allowed to make a profit building houses, providing food, and health care, who is going to be willing to do it? You liberals refuse to actually stop and think about the reality of how things work in the real world. How many people do you think are going to spend the better part of a decade (or longer), while paying $30,000 to $70,000 yearly in tuition studying medicine in order to work for FREE? How many companies are going to hire and pay contractors to build houses, in order to give them away for FREE? Will grocery stores be able to stay in business if they purchase produce and give it away for free? I believe in my heart that SOME of you Liberals do have good intentions. However, your minds are so deluded with irrational fairy tale ideas that almost every concept you propose makes absolutely no sense, and is completely illogical.
I do agree that our health care system is broken, but a government health care program is destined to fail!
Insurance is defined as "the act, system, or business of insuring property, life, one's person, etc., against loss or harm arising in specified contingencies, as fire, accident, death, disablement, or the like, in consideration of a payment proportionate to the risk involved."
The reason insurance prices are so high is because we are insuring against something that is inevitably GOING TO HAPPEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! People are GOING TO GET SICK!! There is NO avoiding it! This is just silly! Health insurance should cover Medical emergencies and chronic illnesses for which the cost would be too high to pay. Health insurance should NOT cover the occasional doctor visit for routine check ups, or minor non life threatening injuries and so on. Having to pay for every scraped knee, every sneeze, and every stitched cut is what jacks up the price of health insurance.
All I hear about lately is the THOUSANDS of Americans who cannot afford health insurance. But i'll bet you if they weren't paying 160 dollars a month for Cable, that they watch on their 700 dollar LCD TV, they could drive their Ford Expedition (that they probably pay 645$ per month for) to their local insurance agent and purchase their own Health insurance plan!!!!
